The Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia; Chattanooga, Tennessee.

We traveled a good chunk of the Blue Ridge Parkway on Sunday this week.  There was miraculous vista after miraculous vista.  We took a detour into Roanoke where a minor miracle helped guide me on the merest whiff of directions to a food co-op, where we got some food for camping.  Then we camped at Rocky Knob Campground.  A fine time was had that day with my sweet girl, who was patient with all the driving, and excited to take some pictures of her own (noted below).  (And note the picture of milepost 42.)

The following are pictures that Lily took at the campground.

On Monday we had a long day of driving to John’s house in Chattanooga, where we were greeted at the gate by very-friendly-dog Koko.  We saw the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel (including the fountains and rose gardens in the back).  Today Lily and I went to Ruby Falls, a waterfall in a cave in the depths of Lookout Mountain.
Tomorrow: onwards to Georgia.

  1. Love the orbs. Same camera, different shot. No orbs. Orbs. What makes the orbs? Neat!

    • Liag, I think it’s the flash reflecting off the water droplets that were coming off the waterfall.
