Etowah Indian Mounds, Cartersville, Georgia.

Yesterday we had a delightful visit with my friend Lisa, her husband Tommy, and their granddaughter Arianna, who is 7 years old, just like Lily.  And yet again, as has been demonstrated repeatedly, the online friendship made “real” (not that it was ever “unreal”) is a blessing indeed.  Lisa is just as sweet, generous, interesting, and wonderful as she seemed from a distance.  She gave me two plants to put in my garden, a gardenia and an iris; I’ll be doing my best to keep them alive until September.  Lily was ecstatic to meet Arianna; they climbed trees and frolicked like crazy, despite the heat.

The Etowah Indian Mounds were well worth a visit, and I’m inspired to keep visiting American Indian sites as much as we can.
