San Antonio, Texas.

We spent most of the day exploring San Antonio under the friendly guidance of Glen, Skye’s brother, who was most affable, interesting, and generous.  In this series of pictures, we first see Skye’s house, Lucy the dog, Zhedonia (spelling?) the dog, Lily’s art supplies, and Joey the cat.  Then we launch into our tour of San Antonio with Glen, first visiting a piece of the Old Spanish Trail (which we are roughly following for a portion of its original length from Mobile to El Paso); the Pearl farmers market, the San Antonio Public Library complete with the blown glass sculpture “Fiesta Tower” by Dale Chihuly, the Riverwalk, and the San Fernando Cathedral.

Tomorrow we’ll travel about 550 miles west to El Paso.  I’m looking forward to experiencing the changes in the landscape that I hear are quite dramatic when traveling into west Texas.  Desert lands, here we come.
